2015 Indianapolis Monthly Dream Home

I was selected as one of the team members to do the architectural design of the 2015 Indianapolis Monthly Dream Home. The homeowner wanted a unique home with a midwest feel yet the sophistication of the W Hotel. Having the lot being surrounded by water on three sides, we wanted to capture a view of the water from every room in the home.

Contemporary Farmhouse

I designed this home originally 25 years ago with the original owners. After selling the home to the current owners I was brought back for renovations. The clients wanted an open spaced feel yet have each room with its own vibe. The kitchen is one of the client's favorite features. With a family of six children and lots of entertaining we designed the sliding panels to hide any mess after meals or caterers into the butler's pantry.

Farmhouse Revisited. Midwest Living's Idea Home

Gary was selected by Meredith Publishing to design the 20th anniversary Idea Home.

Designers were interviewed by the selection committee from a four state area.

Gary was selected from this process and the design began. The critical guidelines were to design an up to date version of a classic farmhouse. It was also imperative that most of the products used were from advertisers in their magazine. Gary also worked closely with Meredith’s design team headed by Carol Schalla.

Gary then contacted Gradison Building Corporation to be the general contractor during construction. Gary presold the house to one of his clients that designed a lake cottage for as well as the husband’s corporate offices.

It was a fun and enjoyable process for everyone involved.

Northern Michigan Cottage Featured in 2013 Kitchen Tour

What a fun project to work on with great people such as Jill Brecheisen of Kitchens By Design and Matthews Construction. The kitchen in this cottage was featured in Traverse Magazine and apart of the 2013 Kitchen Tour in Northern Michigan.

Party Barn

Barn Retreat on a client's property used for entertainment and storage. The main level has an open ceiling with wood planking and hand-hewn beams. There is a large fireplace with a raised hearth. There is a combination of a kitchen and a bar. The lower level consists of a workshop and is used for lawn maintenance and tractor storage.

Life on the Lake

In September of 2018 at the CEDIA Awards in San Diego, California, The Premier Group entered this project and was awarded Top Honors in North and South America for Integrated Home of the Year! In February of 2019 this project was featured in the Wall Street Journal.

Houzz chose Gary along with 10 other design professionals from North America and Canada to fly out to Palo Alto, California to their headquarters to be interviewed for their website on how Houzz has helped market his business.

Barn Remodel

A recently completed project just held their Christmas Party! The main level is living, dining & kitchen along with a guest apartment in one wing. The second level is the arcade floor for the grandkids. The third level is where the couple resides. We made their floor more of a penthouse feel with their own kitchen, living room & family room.
